Would you like to have better sleep?
Is insomnia affecting your day-to-day life?
Would you like to have better quality sleep?
Dr Mike Oliver is a registered Health Psychologist and Chartered Psychologist who specialises in helping people who have insomnia.
Mike is qualified in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi).
The National Institute For Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends that CBTi be offered as the first-line treatment for adults of any age. It is recommended over and above sleep medication.
If you are living with insomnia, typically a 4 to 6-week programme will help you to achieve better quality sleep. In this programme, you will:
-
Find out if you have insomnia (you may have other sleep conditions which would need different treatment)
-
Learn about how and why sleep affects your daily functioning
-
Gain behavioural skills to maximise your chance of a good night’s sleep
-
Challenge and overcome the negative thought patterns that typically occur with insomnia
-
Retrain yourself to sleep and wake timings for improved quality of sleep
The benefits of CBTi include:
-
Long-lasting impact: cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBTi) is recommended for the treatment of both short- and long-term insomnia in adults of all ages — unlike medication, benefits associated with CBTi persist after completion of treatment
-
Skills for life: you will learn techniques and approaches that you will be able to return to at any time in the future
Please call 07912 107572 to arrange a time for a free 15 to 30-minute consultation to determine if you are suitable for this treatment.
